What is Titin?
Tintin(connectin)是一種由34,350個氨基酸組成的蛋白質,在橫紋肌中特異性表達。human titin的分子量為3,816 kDa,為生物體內已知的現有蛋白質中最大的蛋白質。

肌原纖維蛋白的最小組成單位是肌小節(sarcomere),而Tintin是肌小節結構蛋白之一。它具有彈性蛋白的作用,可藉由進行收縮來恢復縮短的肌小節的長度。已知,如果肌肉受損,Tintin就會被諸如calpain和matrix metalloprotease之類的蛋白質代謝酶裂解。

Titin在運動醫學、心臟病、非酒精性脂肪肝疾病(NAFLD)、肌少症(Sarcopenia)和衰弱症(Frailty)領域都被廣泛研究,並且被認為可以作為監測肌肉狀況的非侵入性生物標記物。此kit可檢測人類尿液中的Titin N fragment。
